| A couple weeks ago Brad and the kids found this ginormous spider along our backyard fence. It's webs was about 3 feet in diameter. The spider's body was an inch by a half inch. So this is crazy....but that's not all -- It had a wrapped, anesthetized prey bundle that is was feeding on. I have seen spiders this big -- usually "Banana" spiders out in the berry patch back on our farm -- and I have seen spiders catch bugs and wrap them but I've never seen one eating from a parcel like this. The kids were totally fascinated. Brad took these photos. Amazing. By the way, if any of you or your kids loves learning about amazing creatures like this (across the animal kingdom) you should check out this site called I Spy Animals -- It is so so fun. |
