The Day Thea Belle Turned One

The morning Thea Belle turned one we went on a fun bike ride. More fun because my mom and dad had brought their bikes up for their visit and they came with us. We love going down along Minnehaha Creek to the West of Portland Ave. and dipping down into the woods and coming up crossing 50th and going a bit longer over to Lake Harriet. There is a great, quiet little beach there (usually cleared of seaweed) that most of the summer almost always had little kids playing. Grandma and Grandpa happily sat watching the kids play and we enjoyed a clear, sunny, lovely playful rest before biking back home for lunch.

And because no trip is quite complete without a beautiful insect...

Look at those amber tiger wings...

And at least one little body was quite a bit more tired than his protests would of had us believe...Grandpa reading The Hobbit to Atticus while his brothers and sister were napping.

Oh, I've been waiting to read The Hobbit to Nate...maybe he is ready...

Happy birthday little Thea! The beach seems so far away, it's definitely fall weather now!
