Home. Sweet.

For Christmas my Mother-in-law and Father-in-law and Brad and I bought this dollhouse for Thea Belle (from craigslist). It came mostly furnished but I didn't care for the upholstery or some of the clothes. So I had fun making couch and chair cushions and bedding. And then wallpapering in more festive patterns/colors. I decided Thea Belle would love a baby and nursery furniture to add to the family and house. And -- hurray -- that is her favorite/most played with part. (-:

My mom knitted this wonderful rug. I was going to use it as an afghan on the couch but decided I really liked it in the bedroom on the floor.

This is where Thea Belle put the daddy. Then she would move him over to the toilet. Then in a brilliant move, she moved the toilet over to the computer desk for the daddy to have the ultimate work station. I am not kidding. It was ridiculous and awesome.

The rug is an actual rabbit pellet that came in a bag of vintage trim and odds and ends from Brad's Grandma. I knew I would find the perfect place for it!

And join them for cupcake parties...

Ahhhh! Fight for the Joy!!!!!

I don't feel good "about things" tonight. Ugh. So I am posting this photo because there is so much to be thankful for. Because I too easily forget all the cataract of awesomeness which is my life. Because I know that God is good and has been and is very, very kind to me. Amen.

Like a Fox

This is a wonderful jumper. I really really love it. It is from Wild Things Dresses Etsy shop. I found it on Keiko Lynn's blog.

This is a wonderful paper sculpture by Jeremy Kool. I don't know who he is, but I want to try to duplicate this. And then try it with faces. And maybe fabric with spray stiffener.

I don't know who these people are. I wish I could give them credit for the awesomeness of their mask creations. Seriously. Brad and I need to do this for a costume party before we are dead. (In case you didn't know, they are Fantastic Mr. Fox and his wife from Wes Anderson's movie and Mrs. F.M.F. is holding a paintbrush, because she is a landscape artist.)

Some Dietrich

Dietrich continues to seldom draw. But one day he drew these trucks and I rescued them from being destroyed in the aftermath of his disappointment with them. I think they are great.

What he really likes better than drawing is writing. Now that he has begun reading and has an excellent memory -- He loves spelling words that he has learned. He loves sound words like "Boing!"

And, of course, super heroes...

An electric monster

And he loves math -- especially flash cards with his dad. When no one sits and does math with him, he likes to just write numbers and fictitious equations.

Dogs in an electric fence. Dietrich said this was a joke -- something to do with dogs making copies of themselves...
