Sky at the Lake and Little Quiet Spaces of Time

Something about living in flat, wide-open northern Illinois farmland made my soul just open sing to skies...The camp that Brad's family comes to each summer has these lake skies...these beautiful ever-changing skies that never quite translate into photos...or paintings. Oh, love...

Brad and his parents...I love this photo...

My mother-in-law in her favorite spot on the porch...quiet, taking in her lake...this is "her place"...

Nancy and Tom on the swing...

Brad reading his Durant history book (Medieval volume, number #4 of 11 -- 3 years into his project (-:)

I had time to try out oil pastels - new ones, a medium I hadn't used in many, many years. I made a amalgamated drawing from Tomie DePaola's illustrations in "Erandi's Braids".

gorgeous "documenting." We are the same person when it comes to the changing, open sky.
Those images brought the quiet to me.
