Como Zoo with the Gollihers

So about two weeks ago now, Atticus and Dietrich were visiting my in-laws down in Des Moines and I got a few days of preschool activities with Lincoln and Thea Belle. It was very wonderful. Lincoln was such a good big brother to Thea (like he usually is) and overall there was so much LESS conflict. And I must say that going on outings with two kids is freaking awesome. I was able to keep track of them both and felt so relaxed. Our first morning together we went with Anne, William and Lewis (who was napping in the stroller) to the Como Zoo. There is a brand new Gorilla habitat there which is beautiful. And the baby orangutan was hilarious -- He put a shopping bag over his head and danced around waving his hands over his head -- the crowds was cracking up -- until his mom came over and took it off his head and actually wapped him on the head as if to say, "Cut it out, you." Pretty entertaining.

Lincoln was so funny -- wanting his photo taken, posing with these totally awesome cheesy smiles and hand placements. Ha!

It was fun watching Anne take photos -- she is amazing. William was in a pretty foul mood that morning and kept his mom on her toes. But Anne was able to capture some of the best parts of the visit -- she's good like that. (-:

The kids all wanted to see the pictures (-:

And then, seems made up, a mom and her ducklings made a trip right in front of us -- Lincoln was a humungous spring inside -- ready to pounce on these guys -- out of pure joy and excitement. I had to hold him back like a badly trained bird dog. Thankfully, the mama duck got herself and her babies through the fence into the bird enclosure -- with some help from a zoo employee. (The rest of the photos in this post are by Anne -- thank you, friend!)

Handsome William!
