Rockin' with the Screamin' Hairy Guy and His Band

Last Wednesday night Brad and I had the fun of seeing a Wilco concert over at the University of Minnesota's Northrup Auditorium. It was a fantastic show -- these guys are quintessential rock concert -- great musicians, great music, and they were "on their game" that night. Tweedy, the frontman, was just hilarious -- loose and funny and rockin' out. He wore this silly straw hat, denim shirt and jeans -- looked like a cross between Michael Landon ("Pa") and a street person with a touch of neanderthal guy. Yep -- he's never what I call attractive (though Brad finds him rather sexy), but I forgive him for his perennial lack of grooming and fashion laissez-faire because that boy can play music -- and how. Thanks to Leah & Eric for babysitting Atticus for us...and even moreso since you guys are Wilco fans, and we schmucky friends forgot to tell you they were coming to town. Our bad. Oh, I forgot to mention that the opener for the concert was another favorite of ours, the strange and wonderful Andrew Bird, rock-violinist/guitarist/whistler-extraordinaire.
