Ackland Week 2013: Vosberg Dairy Farm, Part 2

And then the calves...

Robyn grew up around dairy and beef cattle so she's experienced (-:

And then the grown-up dairy cattle before they go into the milking center...
Gwen Vosberg was awesome on the tour -- She was so good at explaining everything -- switching between answering the adults and their questions and the kids and theirs. She was patient and cheerful and knowledgeable and completely in her element. Yay!

Ackland Week 2013: Dairy Farm, Part 1

The highlight of our visit with my family was the afternoon at the Vosberg Organic Dairy Farm. Tim and Heidi Vosberg and their children are members at my dad's church down in Potosi, WI. They kindly opened their farm to us one afternoon milking time. There was so much to see that I am doing this in a couple posts. Yay! Oh, and if you buy Organic Valley milk you are supporting the Vosbergs!!

Starting small: The kittens! It was quite the production catching those three kitties. Wow did they know how to escape/hide! But the kids (and grown-ups) persisted! (-:

My son is a cat guy -- man, he loves cats (and books and drawing -- makings of a librarian? Or an Alec Knox?)

Ackland Week 2013: Bowling!

So way back at the beginning of August, we traveled down to Wisconsin (outside of Iowa) and spent the week at my folks'. My brother Jonathan and sister-in-law Robyn also live in the area with their four kids. My brother Aaron and sister-in-law Lindsey came up with their two kids from St.Louis, MO. And my sister Bekah, who also lives up in Minneapolis, came down too. One of our first activities was bowling. Here is Robyn with her two girls, Daphne and Felicity and her oldest boy, Clark.

Robyn again (one of the gentlest, most patient people ever -- who kept helping the kids bowl down the guide). With Daphne and Lilly in the back.

My mom always gets a few crafts for the kids to do when they visit -- One of them were these visors. Atticus loved his.

Sweet Lilly!

Crazy dance moves...

Felicity and Thea Belle loving each other -- They had fun all week. Thea Belle is so blessed to have girl cousins on both sides near her age that she has so much fun with! Yay! God is so kind to us!
